Description

Sadipal is a polypropylene clear self-adhesive sitcky-back film. It has a delayed-action adhesive making it repositionable. Manufactured from 50 micron, Sadipal provides excellent all round protection whilst enhancing the appearance of a book. Our Sadipal are in rolls of 3m and 25m lengths.

Easy to apply, simply cut Sadipal (50 micron) to the height of the book, peal the release liner off and secure to the book.

KPC offer a wide range of Sadipal (50 micron) from as small as 250mm x 25m up to 1000mm x 25m. To determine the size you require, measure the height of the spine and the full length of the book when open. Please note some trimming may be necessary at the smaller extremes of dimensions.

    Horrible to use

I’ve used the 80 micron version of this covering, and it was really easy to work with, though it was too thick for most of my books, so I bought the 50 micron type instead. It is really difficult to work with. There is a thick strip which peels off the backing paper after you slightly bend the covering. However, the backing paper is very thin, and often tears at this point, meaning that you end up with a strip of backing paper still stuck to the adhesive.which is really difficult to get off.

If – as I am – you are trying to use the film for two books side-by-side, the peel-off strip is only on the side for one book, and there is no way to separate the backing paper from the adhesive for the other book. I’ve found it virtually impossible to separate backing paper and the adhesive at the edges of the piece I’ve cut, whereas on other types I’ve used, this has been much easier to do. I’ve had to bend the adhesive so much to try to get the backing paper off that it ends up being rumpled on the cover of the book. Covering books with this is taking me at least twice as long as when I used the similar 80 micron film, which had a thicker and much easier to remove backing paper.

Film with a tear-off strip at both sides of the backing paper would be much better, and thicker backing paper that didn’t tear would be best of all.
